1. We Believe The
Bible is the inspired, inerrant, authoritative, powerful, literal Word of
God. Spoken by God to 40 different
writers, who wrote 66 books, to communicate to people who God is, who and what the human race is, what God
has done, is doing and will do in the future, how to live with God forever and how to live with
our fellow human beings. While The Bible doesn’t answer all of life’s questions, it does tell us
everything we need to know for living life in godliness.
(Proverbs
30:5-6, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21)
2. We believe
in ONE almighty loving God, creator of Heaven and Earth, of all things
seen and unseen, eternally existent
and revealed in three personages, referred to as “The Trinity” or Tri-une;
God the
Father, God the Son, and God The Holy Spirit.
Although
the word Trinity doesn’t appear in The Bible, the concept of the Trinity
appears throughout The Bible. (Gen 1:
1-3, Matthew 28:19, 2Cor 13:14, )
3. We believe
in the full deity of The Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, image of
God, and incarnate Word of God.
Conceived in the virgin Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit. He led a sinless life, and performed many miracles
proving His deity. He bore all the sins of humanity on The Cross and atoned for them by His blood
and death. He resurrected back to life, three days later by the power of the Holy Spirit, and appeared to over
500, before ascending in body into Heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of God, to intercede on behalf of The
Church, and will one day return to Rapture
The Church, and then Reign and Rule on Earth, and judge all the living and the
dead.
(Genesis
1:3, Isaiah 7:14, 9:6-7, 53:1-12, John 1:1-18, 10:30, 38, Matthew 1:18-25,Philippians 2:6, Colossians 1:15-20)
4. We believe in the person, power, and
present day working of The Holy Spirit, which is also the Spirit of
Jesus Christ, whom Jesus gave to The Church to empower all Christians to be the
people God has created us to be, and to say and do the miraculous things God
has called us to say and do.
This
includes the Baptism in the supernatural gifts of the Spirit. (Joel 2:28-32,
Mark 16:17-18,
John
14:15-20, 25-27, 15:26, 16:7-15, Acts 2:1-4, 1Cor12:1-11, 13:8-10, 14:26-33,
39-40)
5. We believe
because of Adam and Eve’s Sin, every person is born into a sinful human
nature leaving them unable to meet
the requirements and standards of God’s holiness. Sin is a nature that manifests itself through human attitudes and
actions that even passively oppose God.
(Isaiah
52:5, 64:6, Romans 3:9-18, 23, 6:23)
6. We believe God
Loves all people, which is why He sent Jesus Christ to die and atone for
our sins and then
gave the Holy Spirit, so people can be “Born Again” by the power of The Holy
Spirit and become children of God.
(John 3:1-35, Romans 5:8, 1 John 4:7-10, 5:1-12)
7. We believe
all people can be and need to be Saved from Hell and God’s judgment by God’s
Grace alone through faith in Jesus
Christ, apart from any human goods works. All a person needs to do is humbly receive God’s Forgiveness for their
sins, by accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, and the power of His Holy Spirit into their
life, which transforms a sinner into a saint of God.
(Acts 2:38-41, Romans 10:11-13, 1 Corinthians 15:2,
Ephesians 2:1-10)
8. We believe The
Church is comprised of people saved by God’s grace and transformed by His
Holy Spirit into the New Testament
Temple of God. More than just an organization, the Church is a spiritually living organism “the body
of Christ” designed by God to demonstrate the manifold wisdom of God in the power of God’s
Holy Spirit. Thus The Church has been given divine authority and power through the person and workings of
The Holy Spirit of God.
(1Cor3:9,16-17,
6:19-20, Ephesians 5:30, Colossians
1:24)
9. We believe
in Baby and child Dedication to The Lord and the Water Baptism
of adults and children old enough to know
the merits of sin and salvation is the external, public, evidence of accepting Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and thus
becoming a Christian. (Luke 2:21-22, Matt 28:19)
10. We believe Communion
“The Lord’s Supper” is a celebration of Jesus Christ’s triumphant death and resurrection, until He returns again one day
in glory. (Luke 22:14-19, 1 Corinthians 11:23-28)
11. We believe
the Blessed Hope of the Christian is to one day live face to face with
God in Heaven either through the
Resurrection of the dead, or the Rapture of the living.
(Matthew
24:36-42, 1 Corinthians 15:12-23, 35-44, 50-54, 1Thessalonians 4:13-18, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, Rev 7:9-14)
12. We believe the prophetic words of Revelation
are a literal understanding of what God has said in the past, of what Heaven is like now and forever,
and what the Earth will be like for seven years in the future, known as the
“Great Tribulation” because of the unrepentant sin of humanity and the judgment of God. (Rev 22:6-7)
* While Marriage isn’t an
essential truth for salvation and eternal life, we believe Marriage is a
holy, voluntary, optional, and
sacred covenant between one man and one woman becoming one flesh at the exclusion of all others, for life, as a
reflection of God’s intimate covenant faithfulness to The Church through Jesus Christ, and procreating
and reproducing the human race.
(Gen
2:18-25, 1Corinthians 7:2-8, 36-37, Ephesians 5:21-32, Hebrews 13:4)
